# Troubleshooting: resets

Last updated 29 October 2026

Look up what you see when the package resets a database, or another process writes it now: why, and what to do.

| What you see | Why | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `db.status().reset` is not `null` | The database was reset: its statements and `synced()` throw `UrsulaResetError`. | Do what its `action` says: `reopen` means open the database again, `stop` means stop this process, and `fix` means fix the cause first (see [UrsulaResetError](https://tonbo.dev/docs/reference/nodejs/errors.md#ursula-reset-error)). |
| The reset’s kind is `fenced` | Another process opened the database and is now its writer. | Stop this process, and find the second instance before you open the database again. |
