# Troubleshooting

Look up the answer a request got when a stream or the Management API refuses it: why, whether to send it again, and what to do.

A refusal carries a JSON body such as `{"error":{"code":"STREAM_LIFECYCLE","message":"..."}}`. Match the code, never the message, which is written for people and may change.
